How do Orbucks work?
You earn Orbucks on flights, hotels, packages, and activities booked through the Orbitz website or mobile app. Redeem your Orbucks to save on hotel bookings; every $1 in Orbucks gives you $1 off a hotel stay. From our savings example earlier: a $1,000 hotel stay earns you $40 back through the app, and a $500 flight earns you $10 back through the app or $5 on the website.
You can redeem any amount with no minimum balance required. We found Orbucks are most valuable on prepaid hotel bookings since there are no blackout dates. Orbucks expire after one year. You'll receive a reminder before your Orbucks expire via email.
Sign up for free before your next booking to start earning Orbucks! You become a Silver status member instantly and get access to Insider Prices, at least 10% off select hotels. We recommend aiming for the Gold tier if you travel four nights per year or more. The free amenities pay off quickly.
How to apply a coupon on Orbitz
Step 1: Select your room
Enter your destination, booking dates, and number of guests on the Orbitz website or through their app. Then choose the hotel that best suits your needs. Once you have the hotel picked out, select your room
Step 2: Choose "Pay Now"
When you get to the payment selection page, choose "Pay Now". From our experience, this is how you get the option to add a coupon at checkout.
Step 3: Toggle the coupon box
On the payment page, look for blue text that says "Use a coupon, credit, or promotion code" and tap it to toggle the coupon box. You'll find it underneath the Price Details and Total.
Step 4: Enter your coupon
Once the box appears, enter your coupon. We recommend copying and pasting directly from our page to ensure it's entered correctly. Once applied, complete the checkout process as usual.

Orbitz also has a Packages Under $499 section for travelers on a budget. You’ll still earn Orbucks, up to 2% back on packages. Many vacation packages come with free cancellation or Insider Prices that can save you even more. You can stack your Orbucks with a vacation package to lower your trip even more.
