How to get a refund on your Uber order
Every refund request is evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and your refund process will depend on what you ordered. After Uber Eats reviews your case, they may issue you a partial or full refund, offer you Uber Cash, or deny your claim altogether.
Food delivery orders
Report food order issues through the Help section in your order history:
In the app, tap “Activity”.
Select the order you’re having an issue with.
Under “Help with an order,” tap “Past order” to open the help chat.
Chat with the bot, choosing the options that best match your situation.
In some instances, your issue may be escalated to a live agent.
Uber will most likely issue a refund to your card if you’re seeking a full refund, such as in cases where your order was never delivered to you or the order you received was entirely wrong. In cases like incorrect or missing items, they are more likely to give you Uber Cash to cover your missing item. Uber Eats refunds generally take 3 to 10 business days to process.
Your best chance at a resolution is to contact Uber within 48 hours of the issue with photos of any problems and attach them in the help chat to strengthen your case.
Common reasons for denial include GPS data confirming delivery to your location or contacting support after the 48-hour window. When the chatbot denies your claim, request a live agent and appeal your rejection. This often leads to an overturned decision. Should Uber ultimately deny the claim, you can dispute the charge with your bank or credit card provider, though this may result in Uber suspending your account.
Product delivery orders
Retail product returns (like items from Sephora, Best Buy, or Home Depot) are subject to the specific retail store’s return policy. You can return eligible items to physical store locations. Find your return receipt barcode through the Uber Eats app with these steps:
Select “Orders” at the bottom of the home screen
Select the order that includes the item(s) you want to return
Select “Return an Item” to view in-store return instructions
Return windows range from 15 to 90 days, and refund options vary. Some retailers refund to your original payment method, while others issue merchandise credit.

Uber One Member Days
Uber One Member Days is an annual 10-day deals event for Uber One members featuring hundreds of thousands of discounts across rides, restaurants, groceries, and retail. In 2026, it took place from May 15th through May 24th. An offer we saw during this time was 25% off at select pizza restaurants for one day.
Is an Uber One membership worth it?
If you spend roughly $30 on an Uber Eats order, you’ll save around $4 in fees with Uber One. You’ll break even after placing two to three orders per month of this size. Factor in exclusive discounts and cashback, and even two orders per month puts most members ahead. Actual savings will depend on your ordering habits.
We tested this on a real order at Gusto, an Atlanta restaurant. We added $28.20 worth of food to our cart. Gusto's promo made the bag of chips we added (a $2.40 value) free, bringing the subtotal to $25.80, and a 40% off Uber promo reduced it further to $15.48.
Without Uber One, the $1.49 delivery fee, $3.67 service fee, and $1.40 in taxes would have put our total at $22.04 before tip.
With Uber One, the delivery fee was waived, the service fee dropped to $1.15, and $0.59 in Uber One Credits from a past Uber ride were applied. These discounts put our total at $17.44 before tip, saving us $4.60 on a single order.
Most Uber offers are incentives for new users to get on the platform, but this membership is an opportunity to save as an existing user. Plus, you can cancel anytime without fees or penalties, which takes some of the risk out of trying it.
Browse for special deals before you pick a restaurant
There are three spots on Uber Eats that you can check for deals:
Along with the different types of cuisines and retailers you can filter for, the menu bar icons also let you filter for specific limited-time deals, like the $12 Meal Deals and Happy Hour offers.
The “Offers” filter allows you to see which restaurants have deals or are eligible for sitewide promos and which retailers have discounted products.
The sponsored promotions banners are mainly home to sponsored listings for establishments on the platform, but mixed in are current offers that are part of marketing campaigns and chain partnerships.
The restaurants and promotions you see will depend on what’s available in your area. You'll most likely see BOGO deals on select menu items and free menu items with select order minimums. During a review of their offers in August 2026, we tested out using the "Offers" filter to see what was available and saw a bubble tea cafe offering Buy 1 Get 1 Free on Thai tea, a free item on $45 orders at a barbecue restaurant, and $10 off $50 orders at a Japanese restaurant.
Choose pickup to avoid fees
The only way to completely avoid delivery and service fees is to choose to pick up your order instead of having it delivered to your home.
For a test delivery order we made in August 2026, our order total was $28.20. Switching the order to pick up cut out the $1.49 delivery fee and $3.67 service fee, which saved us a total of $5.16. That gave us an 18% discount on our order subtotal. Uber's fees will vary based on your order size, restaurant, and location, so your savings will differ. However, if the restaurant you're ordering from is walking distance, it may be worth picking it up if you're saving at least 10%.
We've also seen Uber Eats offer limited-time deals for a bonus discount on pickup orders. For example, in August there was a promo for 15% off $25 pickup orders at select restaurants.
How to use a promo code at Uber Eats
Here’s how to add an Uber Eats promo code to your order:
Select your restaurant and add all the food and drinks you want to your cart.
When you are ready to pay, tap the shopping cart icon, then “Go to Checkout.”
In the Payment section, look for the "Add promo code" button and tap it.
You'll be taken to the Promotions screen where you can paste your promo code into the box or select from a list of available promotions.
Tap "Apply," and click "Done" to return to your order.
You should now see your discount under your subtotal. Now, you can place your order with your savings applied.
