Kohl’s Cash lets you earn $10 for a future purchase every time you spend $50 during a Kohl’s Cash earning event. You earn it on one order, then use it on a later order during the redemption window. That means it only saves you money when you already planned to spend that amount and will shop again before it expires.

Spending $100 during a Kohl’s Cash earning event, you earn $20 in Kohl’s Cash to use on a later order. The threshold matters. A $49 cart earns nothing. Adding a $2 item to bring the total to $51 earns $10 in Kohl’s Cash. That can be a smart move if the extra item is something you already needed and you know you will use the $10 on your next Kohl’s order. It is not a good deal when you add items you do not need just to cross the $50 mark. For example, spending an extra $15 to earn $10 still leaves you $5 behind.

For larger purchases, waiting for a Kohl’s Cash event can help. But, compare the future value to the discount available now. A direct 25% off today can be better than paying more now just to earn 20% back for later.
