Why we don’t feature every coupon and why that’s good for you
One really good coupon is better than 10 coupons that don’t work. So, much like good friends, food, and clothing, we find that quality always wins over quantity.

The internet and couponing go hand in hand. Between digital codes and printable coupons (yes, they still exist!), a quick search for a discount yields a lot of results.
And as good as that is, and as exciting as it can be to spot what you think is a good deal, those codes don’t always work. Whether you got it from a site boasting dozens of codes or the AI search results, we’ve all been burned before.
That’s why we’ve put a strong emphasis on quality over quantity here at Coupons.com. At this point, this mantra is basically the overarching theme to every team meeting we have. But it’s for good reason: We believe that our selective nature is better for you. Here’s why.
A better experience
Coupons.com’s entire existence is to save you money. Given that we’ve been around since 1998, that’s really no surprise. There’s a team of over 50 people working day in and day out to find savings for you. But we take it a few steps further than just putting every single maybe-worked-at-one-point coupon in front of you. Before we publish a coupon on our site, we vet it first. That way, you can count on the coupon working when you go to checkout.
Yes, we really walk through the checkout process and add a prospective code to our cart to make sure it applies the discount to the cart. We really check if the terms and conditions are accurate. We really see for ourselves if a code can be applied to different products so that we can honestly tell you how you might use the code.
When we know that the deal works, we add it to our site so that you can benefit from it.
What that means for you is added confidence in the deals you find on our retailer pages. It also means that you might not see as many coupons on our pages as you might see on other sites.
But you know what? We’re ok with that. Because we believe that having fewer, but higher quality choices wins out to make your shopping experience better and to save you money every time.
The best deals don’t get buried
Another reason why we’re fastidious when it comes to curating our coupons is that by prioritizing quality over quantity, we’re able to highlight the best deals so that they’re easy for you to find.
Sure, we could find twice as many coupons for Amazon or Snapfish to add to our pages, or we could bog down your Coupons.com search results with standard sales that don't require a code. But that means more scrolling and decision-making for you. And that could result in you missing a 50% off code because you saw “free shipping” and thought “sure, I’ll just take that.”
While we wholeheartedly agree that saving something is always great (especially when it’s free shipping… For real, don’t sleep on those offers!), we never want you to miss the savings gold that’s waiting for you simply because you couldn't find it.
In being stringent with what graces our pages, our goal is to make it easier for you to find the best deal for your order.
No nonsense to slow you down
This brings me to our final reason nicely. The Coupons.com methodology means we aren’t putting things on our pages for the sake of having more content on our pages.
It’s true that we used to include the “freebie” ways to save, like when a retailer always offers free shipping on orders of $60 or when a store gives loyal members a special discount on their birthday. And, in the past, there was good reason to do this. But as we’ve evolved and taken up our quality over quantity mantra, we decided that we should post fewer of these offers when they’re permanent offers.
That might technically be bad for us because it might mean that we don’t always send someone to a retailer’s page (which is partially how we make money). What it does mean, though, is that we aren’t giving shoppers like you any false pretenses about deals. And we believe this is a better, more honest way to operate.
With few “filler” offers, if you will, we hope it makes you more trusting of what we bring to the table.
Quality coupons are what we’re all about
All this is to say that the next time you see that we only have 11 offers for The Home Depot or 9 offers for Wayfair, I hope it reminds you that there could be dozens more, but we’ve worked to separate the wheat from the chaff for you. Our team is totally focused on curating the offers on each of our pages to be the most helpful to you, the shopper.
If we’re able to bring you the best of the best deals that truly save you money, we know that we’ve done our job with integrity. We know that we’ve scored a point for quality.
