Topgolf is a sports entertainment company where you rent a hitting bay and aim tracked golf balls at targets. The gameplay is only part of the bill, though. Food, drinks, and events are where the cost climbs fastest, so that is worth keeping in mind when you plan a visit.

Save more by booking the right hours
Topgolf advertises its prices as "as low as $20." But the rate changes by the hour, so the time you book matters a lot. Weekday prices are also lower than during the weekend. For example, in one of the venues we checked, a bay runs $20 per hour from noon to 4 p.m., $32 from 4 to 6 p.m., $38 from 6 to 9 p.m., and $47 after 9 p.m. So the same bay costs $27 less per hour at 1 p.m. than at 9 p.m. Our advice is to check your own venue's grid and aim for the earliest weekday slot you can play.
Online booking shows the lowest published rate, and it is worth comparing that against the walk-in price for the same time. If your venue still runs a Half-Price Tuesday or similar daypart deal, make sure to take advantage of it. Topgolf also charges by the bay, not by the person, and one bay fits up to six players. If you split the cost across a full group, each person's share will drop significantly.

These two things sound alike but cost very different amounts.
The one-time account fee
Costs $6 plus tax, paid once.
It is not a recurring charge and was once called a "Lifetime Membership."
For most casual visitors, this is all you need to start playing.
The PlayMore Membership
Costs $20 per month plus tax, with a 3-month commitment that is non-refundable.
Includes one free hour of gameplay each month, one free appetizer per visit, and covers you plus five guests.
The free hour does not roll over, so it is only worth it if you actually use it most months.
Topgolf also sells higher tiers for frequent and serious players, like the seasonal Summer Fun Pass and the year-round Platinum Club and Platinum Elite plans. If you visit a few times a year, stick with the $6 one-time account and opt for cheaper weekday hours. The memberships are only worth getting if you go often enough to take advantage of all the perks listed. Run the math on your own habits before you commit, since the 3-month minimum means you cannot back out early.
How to use a Topgolf coupon
If you want to make a reservation, make sure to apply your coupon during the online checkout, as you can't use it at the bay. Here's how we do it:
