Launched in 1930, Shedd Aquarium has become a leading institution for aquatic conservation. It is a public indoor facility in Chicago, located on the Museum Campus along Lake Michigan. The facility now features about 32,000 animals in 5 million US gallons of water. Shedd Aquarium aims to inspire curiosity and compassion for marine life and its conservation.
