Madewell return policy
They accept returns within 30 days of purchase on unworn, unwashed items. You can return them in-store or by mail. Mail returns come with a $7.50 fee taken from your refund, so in-store returns are the cheaper option and save you that amount on every return. However, Icon Madewell Insider members are the exception, as they will get free returns and don't have to worry about the deduction.
For in-store returns, bring your items to any Madewell location. Refunds go back to your original payment method the same day.
For mail returns, start the process on their website and print the prepaid label. Expect the $7.50 deduction and a longer wait. We've seen Trustpilot reviews mentioning that refunds can take up to two weeks. Exchanges can take even longer if the item sells out while you wait. We recommend that shoppers check their order as soon as it arrives. This way, you can act within the 30-day window, and if an item is popular or low in stock, ask for a refund instead of an exchange.

These are usually two of Madewell's biggest sale periods. Recent promotions have gone as high as 70% off. Based on our review of their emails over the past two years, the sale window typically opens in the third or fourth week of November and runs into early December. Last year, it ran from November 20 to December 2. That gave shoppers almost two weeks to shop and compare.
Core denim, leather bags, and outerwear see their deepest markdowns of the year during this window. For example, a pair of jeans that costs $128 has dropped to about $60. Leather totes that cost $200 have gone down to $120 or less in past sales. On the other hand, newly launched arrivals, collaboration pieces, and Madewell Icon collection items are usually excluded or discounted only lightly, so if a piece just landed on the site, it's rarely part of the sitewide markdown.
