Avoid a $125 fee when you use their money-back guarantee

Nutrisystem's seven-day money-back guarantee lets you try their meals risk-free, but it only applies to your first order on a four-week plan. You'll need to call customer service within seven days of delivery to request a full refund. The offer is limited to one per customer. It is not valid on Partner Plans or Club Advantage subscriptions. Returning customers can't use it after their first four-week purchase.

There are a few important details the policy doesn't make clear. According to a Trustpilot review, canceling before your second auto shipment can cost you a $125 fee, even within the guarantee window. You're also responsible for return shipping, which can eat into your refund on a heavy food order.

To protect your refund, mark your calendar as soon as your order arrives. Next, don’t wait. Try a variety of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners in the first few days to make a quick decision. If Nutrisystem isn't for you, call customer service before the seven-day mark. Specifically state you are canceling under the money-back guarantee and confirm that your auto-shipment is also terminated to avoid the $125 fee.

Frequently asked questions about Nutrisystem

Does Nutrisystem accept gift cards as payments?

Yes. You can also combine multiple gift cards in one transaction, which is helpful for larger orders or longer meal plans.

The real savings come from how the gift cards are priced. A $100 Nutrisystem gift card is sold at Costco for $79.99. That means you're getting $20 of free credit on every $100 you load up. For shoppers planning to stick with a full meal plan, this is a good tip to keep in mind since you won't have to rely on a promo code to save.

Does Nutrisystem accept EBT?

Nutrisystem does not accept EBT directly on its website or for meal subscription plans. However, shoppers can use SNAP funds to shop for Nutrisystem products at authorized retailers. This includes Walmart, Amazon, and H-E-B. These physical and online stores carry eligible single-serve meals, protein shakes, and 5-day starter kits.

For the best price, start with Walmart. They frequently run Rollback promotions that can drop a $45 Nutrisystem 5-day weight loss kit to around $39. Amazon is worth checking next, especially for shoppers who have Prime, since Subscribe & Save can knock an extra 5% to 15% off eligible Nutrisystem items. Compare everything before you buy to make the most of your monthly balance.

Does Nutrisystem give first order discounts?

Yes, Nutrisystem regularly offers new customer promotions, and we've tracked two main types on their website. The most common is a $30 discount on shoppers' first auto-delivery shipment. The stronger offer, a 25% off coupon on eligible plans plus free shipping, has appeared in August and June this year. Between the two, the coupon will give you the best value on any order over $120.

Before checking out, look at the green promo bar at the top of the homepage. That's where they post current first-order promotions, so scan it for the words "25% off" or "free shipping" first. If you see other, lower-value savings, it's worth waiting a few weeks, especially if the sale timings above are approaching.

How to use a promo code at Nutrisystem

These are the steps to follow:

Once your meal plan is in your cart, continue to the checkout page.
Look for a text that says "Add a promotion code" underneath your order summary.
Click the text, enter your promo code into the field that appears, and click "Apply."
Confirm that the discount has been successfully subtracted from your order total before entering your payment information.

While Nutrisystem only accepts one promo code per order, some can be applied on top of sitewide sales. Before you check out, always try entering a promo code, even if a sitewide deal is already active. If it works, you could save an extra 10% to 25% beyond the sale price. If it doesn't apply, you lose nothing and still get the sale price.

Perks of becoming a Club Advantage member

The membership is a separate add-on to their meal plans. It costs $9.99 per month after a free first month. For shoppers who order meals often, the perks can pay off since it gives you:

25% off first order over $100.
Free shipping on $99+ orders.
Full access to all meals and snacks from Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, South Beach Living, and Wellina.
Exclusive coupon codes sent by email.

This year, we've tracked a few offers from their emails, including two free Wellina meals, 20% off your first food order over $100, and one free month of Club Advantage.

This membership works best for shoppers following a structured diet or anyone who relies on set meals each week. Instead of planning recipes, buying groceries, and prepping food, members can reorder their go-to meals at a lower price.
