Monticello Shop doesn't provide free shipping by default, but there are a few ways to get it:

• Free Shipping Weekends. On random weekends, Monticello Shop occasionally gives shoppers a promo code for free shipping on orders over $100.

• Specific seasonal dates. During Lucky Day in mid-March, they also gave sitewide free shipping promo codes on orders over $99.

These promotions are short. We've seen them last anywhere from three days down to just 24 hours, so timing matters. The best way to catch them is to sign up for the Monticello Shop newsletter, since that's where you can find these promotions.

You can also follow Monticello Shop on Instagram or Facebook, but in our experience, their social posts focus more on product highlights and Jefferson-related content than on active discounts. Email remains the more reliable channel for shipping deals.

Monticello Shop accepts returns within 60 days of purchase, as long as items are unused and in their original packaging. You can request either a full refund or an exchange, but there are a few exclusions worth knowing before you buy.

What can't be returned:

• Personalized products (custom engraving, monogramming, etc.)

• Food, beverages, flowers, and live plants

• Sale merchandise

• Original shipping costs (these are never refunded)

Since sale items are final sale, it's worth being extra sure about the fit, color, or size before buying them. The discount comes with the tradeoff that you can't change your mind later.

In our opinion, for low-cost items, it may not be worth returning at all. Especially since return shipping costs $15 per package when using the prepaid UPS, FedEx, or USPS label they provide. This is a flat fee, so it eats a much larger share of your refund on smaller orders.
