Shipping cost and delivery times
When it comes to getting your order delivered, ThriftBooks has three options, including free shipping on qualifying orders of $20 or more. Here’s what's available:
Standard Free Shipping: Applies to orders of books, music, movies, and TV orders toaling $20 or more, excluding taxes. Delivery takes between 4 and 10 business days for used and new items. For orders under $20, you'll be charged a flat fee of $1.99 per item. Literati Elite, Literati, and Bookworm ReadingRewards members pay $1.49 per item on orders under $20.
Express Shipping: Available on used items only. Costs $6.99 per item and takes 1 to 6 business days.
Expedited Shipping: Costs $12.99 per item. Receive your order in 2 to 3 business days. Available on used items and select new books. This option is not available for P.O. Boxes. Your shopping cart will alert you if any item does not qualify for expedited shipping.
Orders ship Monday through Saturday, excluding U.S. holidays. Delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, and Puerto Rico can take up to 45 days. If an item in your order is cancelled, it can affect your eligibility for free shipping. Some items are not eligible for free standard shipping due to their size. That information will be noted on item pages.
Refunds and returns
ThriftBooks accepts returns for damaged or incorrect orders within 30 days of delivery. Returns must be approved through the Online Returns Center before shipping. After approval, you will be provided with a free prepaid return label. To start a return, have your order number and the email linked to your account ready.

Refunds are typically issued within 48 hours, with funds appearing within two to five business days depending on your bank. Returns are not accepted after the 30-day window, if you change your mind, or for accounts violating their Terms of Use.
Exchanges are reviewed individually for shipping issues, item condition, or listing errors. Exchanges depend on availability, and restocking fees, shipping, taxes, or price differences may apply. How ReadingRewards saves you more
When you create a ThriftBooks account, you're automatically enrolled in ReadingRewards. It's their free loyalty program that lets you earn points and redeem them for free books. As a member, you need 500 points to redeem a free book.
Tiers and benefits
Points are earned per $1 spent and depend on your tier and whether the books you buy are used or new. You''ll earn double the points on used books compared to new books at every tier, which is why it works best for frequent used book buyers. How tiers work
The program tiers are based on the amount you spend in a year. Once you reach a new tier, it stays active for the rest of that calendar year and the full following calendar year. Your tier is determined each year based on your spending during the calendar year.

AARP members
