Is the JetBlue Plus Card worth it?
It can be worth it for those who fly JetBlue often enough to use the checked bag benefit. Cardholders get the first checked bag free for themselves and up to three companions on the same booking. If a checked bag would otherwise cost $35 each way, a family of four could save up to $280 on one round trip. That is enough to cover the card’s $99 annual fee and still come out ahead.
However, the JetBlue Plus Card isn't the right fit for everyone. Travelers who only fly once a year or less should not get one. This is because the points and free checked bag perks likely won't outweigh the annual fee. Solo travelers who stick to a carry-on should also think twice, as the free checked bag benefit, which is one of the card's main values, won't apply. And for those who often shop for the cheapest fare across airlines, a general travel rewards card with more flexibility may serve you better, especially if JetBlue's routes don't match where you usually travel.
