Use a rotisserie chicken or leftover chicken breasts from earlier in the week to make this a super fast dinner to whip up and get on the table. Chicken Tater Tot Casserole


  • 16 oz. sour cream
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 oz. sour cream onion powder mix
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 rotisserie chicken, chopped
  • 8 pieces of bacon
  • 1 bag frozen tater tots
  • 2 cups shredded cheese, divided


1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees

2. Cook the bacon, then set aside to drain. Once cooled, chop bacon

3. Mix together sour cream, garlic powder, eggs, heavy cream, sour cream onion powder mix, salt, and pepper

4. Add rotisserie chicken to sour cream mixture and mix well

5. Pour frozen tater tots into a large bowl, then coat well with chicken sour cream mixture

6. Spray bottom of glass baking dish or casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray

7. Layer bottom of pan with 1 cup shredded cheese

8. Spread tater tot mixture evenly over cheese layer

9. Top with chopped bacon and remaining cheese

10. Bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes

  • Enjoy your tater tot casserole hot, with a size of green salad and a drizzle of sriracha
  • Add frozen broccoli to the tater tot mixture for extra veggies
  • Spice up your casserole with pepper jack shredded cheese
  • Use taco seasoning instead of sour cream onion powder

This is a pretty big recipe, so I would use a 9×13 casserole dish. It will serve 6-8 people. If you have a larger group, round out your meal with a green salad. Thanks for reading!
