Gingerbread Hot Chocolate

Invite friends, family, neighbors and more for some holiday cheer and delicious Gingerbread Hot Chocolate! Perfect for the holiday season, this fun spin on your regular cup of hot cocoa is anything but boring and is easy on the budget too!

Gingerbread Hot Chocolate

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp ground ginger

  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves

  • 2 cups milk

  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

Gingerbread Syrup:

1. In a saucepan, heat together water, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and ground cloves.

2. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes until a syrup forms.

3. Once syrup forms, pour into a glass jar and set aside or leave in the pan and remove from heat to cool a little.

Now you are ready to make your hot chocolate!

4. Heat in a saucepan 2 cups of milk and 3-4 tablespoons of Gingerbread Syrup depending on how gingerbread-infused you want your cocoa. If you want a sweeter hot chocolate, you can add some additional white sugar at this point.

5. Whisk together until combined and heat until piping hot then serve! Top with whipped cream and gingerbread cookies if you like!

Happy Holidays!
