Feel-Good Friday: Big Surprise for Boy Who Donated Bar Mitzvah Money to Best Friend

Get out your tissues because this one is a tearjerker — but a happy tearjerker!

Thirteen-year-old Jesse Kaufmann and his best friend, Jasmine Boden are truly special kids. Jesse read a letter about Jasmine battling a cancerous brain tumor, and he sent her $20 to buy something for herself.

Flash forward to a year later when they serendipitously end up in the same school and classroom, and their friendship evolved. Jasmine’s mom has a tough time paying all the bills as she focuses on Jasmine’s treatment, so when he received $5,ooo for his bar mitzvah, he decided to donate all of it to Jasmine.

That alone would be a pretty awesome story, but Ellen DeGeneres decided to up the ante. The Ellen Show is one of our favorites, because she loves The Good Stuff just as much as we do. Ellen surprised the teens with an additional $10,000, an iPhone 6 for each of them, and a visit from their favorite TV star — Jim Parsons (Sheldon) from The Big Bang Theory!

Watch the video for the super sweet surprises and the adorable bond between Jesse and Jasmine.
