Guess the Secret Ingredient of this Edible Terrarium

Guess the Secret Ingredient of this Edible Terrarium |

If the terrarium trend is as popular at your house as it is on Pinterest, pull out the pudding! This simple, elegant twist on ‘dirt cake’ makes it easy to make edible terrariums that look as good as they taste.

Though there are a variety of edible terrarium ideas online, we wanted to create a quick and easy version, using easy-to-find ingredients carried by most local grocery stores.

Refrigerated pudding packs and crushed Oreos create the “dirt” base. A sprinkle of candy rocks lend the look of a real planter. And, instead of topping our terrariums with elaborate molded candy or frosting, we opted for fresh herbs, which complete these stylish desserts.

Mini chocolate frogs were a fun addition, but aren’t necessary. If you can’t find any locally, forgo that option, or purchase Japanese mushroom-shaped cookies for a fun twist.
