Want to learn how to make your own Double Crunch Buffalo Wings? Read on for the exclusive recipe and then get more hot and spicy ideas on how to make buffalo wings here!
Step 1: Chicken Wings
Start with a pack or two of chicken wings. If you’ve purchased them frozen, you’ll want to thaw them before starting. Both chicken drumettes and chicken wings work with this recipe. Though I highly recommend the chicken drumettes, since they have more meat for the fried coating to cling to.
Step 2: Bowl Prep
Prep two large bowls—one with a seasoned flour mixture and one with a simple egg wash.
Step 3: Triple Dip
Then prepare to get dirty! Dip the chicken in the flour mixture, into the egg mixture, then back into the flour mixture again. This created a double-crunchy fried coating that is absolutely irresistible.
Step 4: Baking Sheet
Place the wings on a baking sheet and prepare a skillet full of hot oil.
Step 5: Fry in Hot Oil
Fry each wing in the hot oil until medium golden brown. Don’t take the chicken out too early, you want a nice, crunchy coating on top!
Step 6: Honey-Garlic Coating
Prep the honey-garlic coating by mixing garlic with honey and soy sauce. That’s it! It’s such a simple flavor combo!
Step 7: Drench in Sauce
Drench the fried wings in the sauce. Then place on a baking sheet and bake until cooked all the way through.
Step 8: Serve and Enjoy
The end result will look something like this. If you peek at the bottom of that pan, you’ll see the sauce cooks into a caramel mess. This is why I highly recommend covering your baking sheet with tin foil. It will save you hours of cleanup, and save your pans from permanently burned sections.
Serve with rice and make these delicious wings a meal, or offer them up as party appetizers. No matter how you enjoy them, they’re crunchy and delicious!
