Growing up we would always stop at the local soft serve ice cream store and, if we were lucky, get to order the chocolate dipped cone. You can recreate the magic of a chocolate shell topping at home with our DIY magic shell recipe. All you need is two ingredients and 5 minutes of your time. You can even let the kids get in on the fun by dipping and sprinkling their individual masterpieces!
DIY Chocolate Shell Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 Tablespoons coconut oil
Directions
Place chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and add the coconut oil. Put the bowl in the microwave and melt in 1-minute increments. You can store in a container and heat up prior to serving. If it thickens, add a little more coconut oil and stir to thin out. Create an ice cream bar and let your kids dip their ice cream cones in your homemade chocolate shell.
