Unlike some other hostel booking services, Hostelworld guarantees that when you arrive at your accommodation, you will have a booking. So much so that if you should arrive at check-in and they cannot find your information, Hostelworld will credit your account with your full deposit, plus $50.
The way it works is that when you make your reservation on Hostelworld, you only have to pay a deposit upfront (which can be discounted with a Hostelworld coupon). You will be locked in at the rate shown at the time of booking. Then when you arrive at your hostel, you pay the rest of the fee and that’s it. If the hostel can’t find your booking, just contact Hostelworld and they will quickly refund your deposit and give you an extra $50.
