If you ever opened up my kitchen cabinets or refrigerator, you might think you’re in a mini Trader Joe’s.
I really like a lot of their products, especially when it comes to planning a party. I can get cheeses and crackers along with unique appetizers, as well as wines and desserts.
The best part is, if I buy Trader Joe’s products listed under one of their many brand names, the prices are great. This means I can often treat my party guests to something extra special without spending an arm and a leg.
Here’s a list of some of my favorite must-haves from Trader Joe’s!
1. Unsweetened Almond Milk 32-Ounce, average price $1.79
I’m a huge fan of almond milk!
I steam some every morning for my tea and steam some more with a touch of vanilla in the evening. The Trader Joe’s brand is one of my favorites!
2. Artichoke Hearts, average price $2.29
I add these artichoke hearts to my eggs in the morning, my salad at lunch, and even some of my favorite dinner recipes.
The price for these artichoke hearts is considerably lower than some other brands, and they’ve proven to be tender and quite yummy!
3. Organic Rainbow Carrots, average price, $1.99-$2.49
I roast these carrots in a little bit of olive oil and keep the leftovers in the fridge for a good-for-you treat later.
They’re delicious and healthy to snack on and the slight sweetness actually curbs my sweet tooth!
4. Organic Veggie Pizza, average price $4.49
I have one word for this pizza: Yum!
This is a great way to get kids (and adults!) to eat extra veggies. The crust is light and crisp and the sauce isn’t overdone. Keep these on hand in the freezer for a quick and healthy meal!
5. Rack of Lamb 1-Pound, average price $15.99
This rack of lamb comes already seasoned, making it easy to cook and serve!
I like to pick this out as a special dinnertime treat when I have guests over. Since it’s already seasoned, I can spend more time perfecting other appetizers or, better yet, socializing with my friends and family.
6. Dark Chocolate-Covered Almonds, $5.99
We all know almonds are really good for you — and some say dark chocolate (in moderation!) is also good for you.
So. . .I enjoy these almonds without any guilt! I have a few a day as a snack and my sweet tooth is satisfied, not to mention my wallet with this great price.
7. Organic Arugula, $2.29
In my house, we’re huge fans of arugula! I like to add an arugula side salad with crushed almonds and olive oil to many of our evening meals.
At about $2, this bag of organic arugula is reasonably priced and I’ve always found it to be very fresh when I’ve opened it up at home.
8. Mexican Cheese Blend, average price $3.49
I love this shredded cheese because it’s ready to go! I’m a big fan of any type of food where the work (in this case, shredding the cheese) is already done for me.
I love to add this shredded cheese to eggs, salad, tacos, or just about any recipe that needs a bit of cheese. The blended tastes work well together!
9. Organic Tea & Lemonade, average price $2.99
I love a glass of iced tea in the afternoon, and this mix of tea with lemonade is the perfect blend with a great price.
I usually add slices of lemon and it really makes a nice mid-afternoon pick-me-up. I also serve this at get-togethers and people love it!
10. Organic Frozen Blueberries, average price $3.99
My son’s favorite dessert as a kid was a bowl of frozen blueberries in milk! I didn’t mind serving it, either, since blueberries have lots of antioxidants.
Nowadays, I love having these frozen blueberries handy to add to my smoothies, and I also zap some in the microwave to spread over waffles and pancakes. The best part is, because they’re frozen you can enjoy delicious blueberries all year long.
11. Sriracha Tofu, average price $3.69
I love tofu — I add it to eggs and saute some up to add to salads. Trader Joe’s Sriracha Tofu has wonderful flavors that add a kick of spice to any dish, and the price is definitely right!
12. Nine Red Roses, average price $3.99
I love giving flowers as a gift, but I have a hard time paying a lot of money for them. Oftentimes, I’ll give a plant instead because they tend to last longer.
But for $3.99, I can give a friend or loved one nine beautiful red roses. Now that’s a deal!
I also love the orchids they sell — for around $10 you can get gorgeous, large orchids.
