Hi, I’m Jeanette Pavini, Savings Expert for Coupons.com, here with your Money Minute. Today, spend about a little time with us and we’ll show you how to get gift cards or even cash for your old electronics

If you recently got a new cell phone, laptop, tablet or other electronic, it may be time to get rid of your old devices.

Most electronics retailers have a trade-in program where you can exchange old electronics for a store gift card.

Compare your item’s trade-in value at big box stores or sites like Amazon, Target, Apple, Office Depot, or Staples.

Enter the details of your item, including its condition, and they will make an offer. If you choose to accept, most will give you a free shipping label to mail it in.

Some independent sites like gazelle.com will even give you a check. When we checked, you could get $215 for a 16GB iPhone 5S in good condition.

Older phones and electronics will be much less, but even if it only has a trade in value of $20, that $20 is a lot more useful than the old device sitting in your closet!

That’s your Money Minute see you next time!
