Target fans – Pay attention! Your favorite store will be phasing out some of its own brands, such as Mossimo and Merona, and bringing in more than 12 new labels. The roll out will span over the next year and a half, with four lines launching within the next couple of weeks.

For those of you who are scared of change, this really isn’t anything new for Target. The retail giant already let go of some of its children’s clothing lines, Circo and Cherokee. The replacement line, Cat & Jack, was a big hit and did $2 billion in the first year of sales. The line also offers clothing options for children with sensory processing sensitivities. To avoid itchy tags, the clothing has heat-transferred labels, flat seams and one-dimensional graphic tees. This line of sensory friendly pieces is available exclusively at Target.com. Coming this fall, Cat & Jack will be expanding their line with adaptive pieces, which will focus on helping meet the needs of children with disabilities.

Frequent shoppers will appreciate more variety. The new women’s clothing line, A New Day, will introduce new designs every month instead of every three months. The store roll out should be hitting the stores now.

It’s not just clothing brands that Target will be changing up. Project 62 will feature lower prices on more trendy, Scandinavian-style furnishings. These modern furnishings, designed with smaller living spaces in mind, will be in store mid-September.
