When I was younger, I always dreaded the arrival of fall.
Maybe it had something to do with growing up in the American Midwest, home to some of the most bone-chilling winters you’ll ever find. But more than likely I was just missing the freedom of summer.
As soon as the first leaves started to fall, I’d scramble to hold onto any remaining remnants of the summer months. I’d go outside and crane my neck up toward the sun to catch the last glow of its warmth. I’d beg my parents and my friends’ parents to take us to the pool one last time before it closed for the season. But perhaps best of all was reminiscing about summer with delicious treats, just like these tasty Strawberry Brownies.
If you’re missing summer like you miss an old friend, the rich, zingy flavor of strawberries is one of the best ways to hold onto those memories. This Strawberry Brownies recipe doesn’t disappoint.
Instead of painstakingly measuring out your flour, sugar, and other ingredients, this recipe uses strawberry cake mix for an easy baking hack. It’s so simple you can let your kids help you mix the batter and make the frosting glaze! Now you can enjoy a few special moments together before Monday rolls around and it’s back to school for them and back to work for you.
One thing I can’t decide is whether the sweet, summery flavor or gorgeous pink color is my favorite part. What about you? Bake up a batch of these delicious Strawberry Brownies this weekend and tell me what you think!
