By now you should be recovered from your turkey coma and ready to jump back into holiday planning. It may be the first days of December but these final weeks are going to fly by. So let’s keep checking things off our list and jump in headfirst to the spirit of the season.
Signed, sealed, delivered
A long post office line can quickly strip you of your holiday cheer. This year, be prepared and get your holiday mail out well before the deadline.
- Create holiday cards. Hopefully you remembered to take a family photo at Thanksgiving. If not, dig through the year’s photos to find the perfect picture. Use a coupon code to save on your photo cards and get them sent out this week.
Deal Alert! Shutterfly has a 40% off flash sale on cards and stationery that expires at 11:59 p.m. 12/3.
- Schedule package pickup. December 15th is the USPS deadline for standard post if you want your items to arrive by Christmas. Simplify the process by scheduling a free pickup during your regular mail delivery. Print a mailing label online and you’ll never have to set foot in the post office this year.
Make DIY gifts
We start the season with the best of DIY intentions, but as time ticks away, they get pushed to the back burner. This year, make it a priority to give gifts with the handmade touch.
- Craft for your hostesses. Anything kitchen-related is a natural choice for your hostess. Personalized hostess gifts like monogrammed mugs stuffed with cocoa ingredients or hand-painted coasters make great, doable DIY gifts.
- Customize your gift-wrap. DIY gift-wrap gives store-bought gifts a personalized touch. Custom gift tags are an easy project anyone can master. Buy plain, brown gift tags at a craft store and a set of alphabet stamps to stamp on each recipient’s name.
Chances are you bought a gift over Black Friday / Cyber Monday. So even if it’s just one, wrap a gift today. We put a lot of time and effort into making those perfect little packages so you might as well enjoy them throughout the season. Plus, getting those gifts wrapped early lessens the chance of prying eyes finding them in the closet.
