Backyard entertaining is casual and fun. Have a pitcher filled with sweet tea, iced water or your favorite cocktail. Have fun straws and napkins to add color to your table. Fill a container with ice and stock with beverages that guests can help themselves to throughout the evening.
Create a Simple-but-Fancy Appetizer
Wow your guests with an appetizer that seems fancy yet is so easy to prepare. Grill your favorite cheese on planks and top with grilled fruit mixed with a little jam and sweet chili sauce. Directions: Place ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. Divide in half. Use one half to marinate your chicken for up to four hours. Bring the remaining marinade to a boil on the stovetop or grill and brush onto chicken during last few minutes. Mix together Tropical Salsa and refrigerate until ready to use.
Grill a batch of veggies to serve with your meal. You can marinate in a little oil, chopped garlic and lemon juice until ready to grill. Grill extra veggies to use in quesadillas or pizzas for quick midweek meals.
Grilled fruit is the perfect ending to your backyard entertaining. While your guests relax after dinner, grill peaches, apricots or pineapple coated with a brown sugar glaze. Serve with ice cream or frozen yogurt and drizzle with remaining sauce.
