Feel-Good Friday: Superheroes Enter High Stakes Super Bowl Bet

Captain America and Star-Lord have engaged in a battle whose only outcome will be determined by the Super Bowl. The stakes are high, but no money or luxury cars will be exchanged.

Not all Super Bowl bets are created equally — Chris Pratt and Chris Evans, two iconic actors and comic book heroes, are using their characters as currency in their display of loyalty to their respective teams. Whoever loses the bet will have to visit a children’s hospital in the winning city.

We can all get on board with a bet like this, and while one of the actors will be disappointed, there are going to be some pretty excited kids.

In an endearing display of support, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy star Pratt (also known as Star-Lord) defends the Seattle Seahawks in the 2015 Super Bowl.

But New England Patriots fan Evans, otherwise known as Captain America, has something to say about that.

So if the Seattle Seahawks win, Chris Evans must visit Seattle Children’s Hospital as Captain America, waving the 12th Man Flag.

But if the New England Patriots win, Star-Lord must visit Christopher’s Haven, a home for kids and their families while they battle cancer… while wearing a Tom Brady jersey (the entire duration of his visit.)

For the next several days, the superheroes are not allies, they are enemies:

In maybe the sweetest Super Bowl bet of all time, both sides are committed to their teams — and that won’t stop their commitment to their Super Bowl bet. But in this case, no one loses. The stakes are high, but both Pratt and Evans are ready to help kids in the winning region.
