Celebrate everyone’s favorite classic Easter candy by turning little bunny-shaped marshmallow Peeps into tuxedo-dressed treats. A little bit of chocolate (and white chocolate!) is all you need for this easy dessert idea. It makes a fun treat for any party table, and a great kitchen craft for kids.

Ready to make your own Tuxedo peeps? Here’s how:
Grab a box of bunny peeps. Any color works! Open the package and separate each Peep gently. If you’d prefer, you can dip the little bit of sticky marshmallow where the ears were connected into a bowl of sugar (or matching colored sugar). This will keep your final peeps from sticking to fingers, but isn’t necessary.
Prepare a work station by melting chocolate and white chocolate chips in two microwave-safe bowls. A little bit of coconut oil added to the mix will thin out your chocolate slightly and give you a nice, smooth coating when you dip the Peeps.
You’ll also want to melt a tablespoon or so of each kind of chocolate into little plastic baggies. When you’re ready to pipe the bow-ties onto each Peep, you’ll simply snip a corner from the bag and squeeze a bit of chocolate out. Easy!
Dip each Peep at a diagonal into chocolate (or white chocolate). Then dip the other side of the body at a diagonal, too. Similar to the method used to make chocolate-covered strawberry tuxedos, you want a little “v” of chocolate on the body of your bunny.
Now pipe a little chocolate bow at the neck of your Peep.
And gently place each chocolate-dipped Peep onto a piece of parchment paper. Allow to dry and harden by placing them in the fridge until you’re ready to serve!
Easy Tuxedo Peeps
- ½ cup + 1 Tablespoon chocolate chips
- ½ cup + 1 tablespoon white chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 12 bunny-shaped marshmallow Peeps
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate with ½ tablespoon of coconut oil. Heat just until the mixture starts to melt, it should not be hot to the touch. Stir until smooth. Repeat with white chocolate. Spoon 1 tablespoon of each melted chocolates into a small plastic bag.
Dip the bottom of each marshmallow Peep into the chocolate at a diagonal. You’ll need to dip them twice—once with a diagonal to the left, and once with the diagonal slanting to the right. Allow excess chocolate to drizzle from the bottom of the bunny before placing on a piece of parchment paper. Pipe a white chocolate bow-tie onto the neck of the bunny by snipping a small corner from the plastic bag.
Repeat until all chocolate is used. Chocolate-dipped Peeps should have white chocolate bows, and white chocolate-dipped peeps should have chocolate bows.
Allow your Peeps to cool and harden by placing them in the fridge. Serve and enjoy!
