Our easiest DIY ever!
I’m on a mission to simplify my beauty routine, which may explain why I’m head-over-heels obsessed with this (too easy to call it a DIY) coconut-oil makeup remover. It’s gentle yet effective, easy on the wallet and so ridiculously easy to pull off.
To get started, you need some organic coconut oil. Since my bathroom is tiny and space is precious, I decanted some melted oil into a pretty vintage Avon jar I found at a thrift store. It looks a lot nicer in my bathroom than a big ol’ utilitarian jar, yes?
Once you’ve got your oil, grab a cotton pad and give it quick shot of warm water. You don’t want it soaked, just a bit dampened.
Swipe the cotton pad over the coconut oil, digging in a little if you need, so it picks up ½-1 teaspoon’s worth of oil. I usually work it into the pad a bit with my fingers so it’s distributed evenly. Then, remove your eye makeup just as you would with a store-bought remover and cotton pad. Repeat steps 1 through 4 on the other eye.
While this method seems too simple to actually work, I pinky-swear promise it removes my liquid liner and waterproof mascara like a charm. The best part is this makeup remover method leaves both lashes and lids feeling delightful.
