Fall is the perfect time to add a little country chic to your home. Harvest décor is one of my favorite things to decorate because it makes everything feel that much cozier. Warm colors, natural textures, and scents like pumpkin spice or apple pie really do make a house feel like home!
If your living space is lacking a bit of fall charm, now’s the time to get decorating. Make like an HGTV episode and check out the Home Decorator’s Collection from Home Depot — they’ve just released their Harvest and Halloween collections and I have to say, I couldn’t stop putting things in my cart!
Luckily for interior design wannabes like me, today is the perfect day to shop: You can save 20% off all Halloween décor or save 20% on all harvest décor at Home Decorator’s Collection. (Exp. 10/24) So get ready to warm up your home with a few of my favorite fall decorating picks!
Warm up your entryway
I love having a console table in my entryway because it’s the perfect way to welcome guests into my home. The Liam Console Table looks dainty with its antique gold leaf finish and mirrored top, but you can quickly warm it up with a few fall-inspired accessories.
I like how these woodsy Tree Trunk Candle Holders add a touch of rustic charm without going over the top. Light some plain white candles and you’ll quickly feel some warm fall ambience. If you’re throwing a Halloween party, pop a tea light inside this Cat Silhouette Lantern for a fun homage to All Hallows’ Eve.
1. Liam Console Table, $467; 2. Tree Trunk Candle Holder, $31; 3. Martha Stewart Living Cat Silhouette Lantern, $31; 4. Quinn Wall Mirror, $259; 5. Lawton Table Lamp, $197; 6. Valton Bowls — Set of 2, $89
Cozy up next to the hearth
When the weather outside is frightful, all I want to do is curl up with a good book (or Netflix!) in front of a crackling fire. If you’re lucky enough to have a fireplace in your home, the mantel is the perfect place to add a touch of harvest décor.
If you’re fresh out of fireplaces, you can easily show off few fall pieces in a bookshelf, like this Louis Philippe Bookcase. The crown molding makes it look more like a built-in than a standalone shelf, and it offers plenty of space for both books and décor alike.
When decorating, it’s always important to vary the height of your pieces. Add a few tall items, like these richly-colored Dried Leaves Cone Trees, and shorter items, like this “a thankful heart” sign or a few of these spooky Apothecary Luminaries. Don’t forget to tuck a few of these large, puffy Felt Pumpkins near your hearth or a cozy chair, too!
Snuggle up by the outdoor fire pit
Speaking of hearths, a great way to keep the outdoor gatherings going even in the fall is to surround an outdoor fireplace with comfy chairs, pillows, and snuggly blankets. This Outdoor Fire Pit even burns wood for that smoky, woodsy smell that reminds us all of good times with friends. S’mores, anyone?
And what’s a good time outside with friends without a few drinks in hand and snacks to enjoy? Serve them up something spooky with these Personalized Skull and Crossbones Stemless Wine Glasses, or fill up this adorable Rustic Turkey Tray with crackers, cheese, and other goodies.
Since we’re talking outdoors, don’t forget to brighten up your front door with this fresh Cotton Wreath. The real, white cotton buds make this a stand-out accessory — and now your door won’t match everyone else’s!
1. Seville Wood-Burning Outdoor Fire Pit, $479; 2. Martha Stewart Living Lake Adela Porch Chairs — Set of 2, $599; 3. Personalized Skull & Crossbones Stemless Wine Glasses — Set of 4, $43; 4. Personalized Rustic Turkey Tray with Metal Handles, $71; 5. Cotton Wreath, $55
Gather around & give thanks together
The dining table is where we come together as a family, so I always like to add some seasonal spirit to it. Eating dinner together is a great way to share stories about each other’s days, goals, challenges, and more. This Conrad Dining Table can easily fit four to six family members around it, and these Custom Dining Chairs are comfy enough that even your squirmy six year old might stay put long enough to eat dinner!
Paint your table with the colors of the harvest season with this Green Harvest Basket centerpiece. The pumpkins, pinecones, and leaves bring the sights of autumn indoors — without the mess! Add the finishing touch to your fall feast with these Maple Leaf Placemats and Coasters.
If it’s a Halloween dinner you’re hosting, perch this Raven next to your centerpiece where he can keep a beady eye on your guests as they enjoy their food. If you want to go all out, these Bat String Lights are perfectly creepy — their eyes glow red when you light them up!
1. Conrad Dining Table, $449; 2. Custom Dining Chair with Nailheads, $179; 3. Green Harvest Basket, $23; 4 & 5. Maple Leaf Placemat, $10; Maple Leaf Coasters — Set of 4, $12; 6. Martha Stewart Living Raven, $15; 7. Martha Stewart Living Bat String Lights, $19
