Share a little love for Valentine’s Day this year with a homemade fudge that looks like it came from a gourmet candy shop.

But, you can make it in the microwave. And it takes just 10 minutes–and it calls for just 3 easy-to-find ingredients. How lovely is this?!

For this quick and fun Valentine’s Day dessert, all you need is a jar of frosting, a bag of chocolate chips (I went for cherry-flavored chips), and a bag of heart-shaped Dove chocolates.

Though classic candy makers will tell you homemade fudge is a finicky process, you might be surprised to learn that chocolate chips + canned frosting make a lovely batch of “frosting fudge.” Simply microwave chips until melted, stir in frosting, and refrigerate.

Directions

1. Place chips in a large, microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high, in 30-second bursts, stirring between, until smooth.

2. Stir in frosting, mixing very well. Spread into a parchment-lined 8×8-inch pan. Press chocolate hearts in the top of the fudge.

3. Place in freezer until firm, about 5-10 minutes. Slice into pieces and enjoy.

Notes: This recipe can be easily swapped with additional flavors. Feel free to use peanut butter or chocolate chips in place of the cherry chips, or vanilla, cream cheese, chocolate, or strawberry frosting in place of the cherry frosting.
