1 Week, 2 Kids & 7 Lunches for Under $45!

1 Week, 2 Kids & 7 Lunches for Under $45! | thegoodstuff

Growing up my son liked the lunches he got over the summer as opposed to during the school year. We were able to get much more creative and journey past the classic sandwich during the summer!

To help you get creative, I’m sharing some of my favorite cheap lunch ideas for kids. I based the menu on what was on sale at my grocery store and what coupons were available online.

After all was said and done, I created a week’s worth of lunches for 2 kids for under $45 bucks — that’s less than $23 per kid for the whole week! So, take that weekly grocery store sales ad, check out grocery coupons online, and start planning your menu. You can even have the kids help with the prep to make lunchtime fun time…and I’m sure followed by clean-up time!

Quick note: If $45 still seems high to you for a week’s worth of lunches, keep in mind that my menu includes multiple of items so you can take advantage of coupons. These multiples and other large items, like a loaf of bread, can also be used for dinners, next week’s lunches, and more to cut down your grocery budget even more!

What do you make for your kids while they’re home on summer break? We like to whip up quick and easy treats like these gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and these make-ahead snacks like almond butter dip with apples. Yummy!
