We’re only a couple weeks away from Christmas and chances are some of you have already done your gift shopping. If you have, great job! You have just received brownie points for being advanced holiday shoppers and Santa’s elves will be sure to bring you delicious homemade brownies. But for those of us who haven’t done so, time is of the essence! So here are four time-savvy holiday shopping tips.
1. Make A List
Oh gosh, this should be a no-brainer right? Yes, it should. By making a list, here’s what I mean:
- Include the names of everyone receiving a gift from you.
- Write down your gift ideas for everyone you have on your list and rank the ideas from top to bottom that way you can prioritize which one you think they’d like the most.
- Find out where you can get those gifts.
- List the things you need to buy for holiday parties.
- Write down your to-do list for the holidays.
2. Search for Deals and Promos Ahead of Time
If you have a certain budget (who doesn’t?), you can definitely use some coupons to get the most bang out of your buck. Search for deals and coupons online ahead of time. Coupons.com is obviously a good place to check out what stores has deals, promotions, and coupons. Doing this prior to actually doing your shopping can save you a lot of time scourging the web for coupons while at the same time looking for the items on your list. Be sure to organize your printed coupons by store and put a visible label so you can find them easily.
3. Plan Your Shopping Itinerary
Now that you’ve got your list, it’s time to plan your itinerary. Even if you’re just shopping online, you need to list down the online retailers that you will be checking out for the items that you’re looking for.
If you’re going to the mall, check out the mall directory online and see where the stores are located that way you can plan going to the ones that are all located on one side of the mall and then the other. Trust me, by doing so, you will save a lot of time!
4. Time Your Shopping
Set a particular time that you would spend in a store. By doing this, you will prevent yourself from wandering around the stores, looking at items you don’t need, and forgetting the ones you really do need. You can do this by setting the timer on your phone. You can always re-set it if you feel that you have found some items but you are quite undecided. Just don’t over it or it will defeat the purpose of saving time. Also be sure to try to get to the mall at a time of day when it won’t be too crowded. Tuesday mornings tend to work really well for many stores. If you can, steer clear of the mall on Saturdays.
Hope you have a fun, delightful holiday shopping by following these 4 tips! We would love to hear from you if you have any time-savvy holiday shopping ideas.
