Spring 2014 collections are heading down runways this week at New York Fashion Week, so it seems only appropriate that this week’s edition of Tuesday News Day is infused with fashion news. If you prefer to leave fashion to the models, we’ve got some stats for football fans, a new app feature for foodies and a cruise promotion for world travelers.
1) Peter Som’s Designer Duds at Kohl’s
Designer fashion for under $90? We’ll take it! Peter Som will be the next designer to have a collection at Kohl’s as part of their DesignNation series. His collection is inspired by a trip to St. Barth’s and will be full of prints and bright colors. Look for it in store and online this spring.
2) Get Fabulous for Fall with Phillip Lim
That’s not the only collaboration bringing affordable fashion to the masses. Last week, the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection was revealed. The preview included a men’s leather bike jacket, animal print skirt and tons of other fall must-haves. This 100+ piece collection hits shelves on September 15 and prices starts at $19.99 for apparel and accessories.
3) The True Price of Admission
How much does it cost to be a football fan? $313 for a couple of Dallas Cowboys fans on game day. Ticket prices have climbed more than 50% in the past decade and parking prices have more than doubled, making it more expensive than ever to be a football fan.
4) Dream Meal at your Fingertips
Make sure your hard-earned cash goes towards a meal you’re truly craving. Foursquare’s new search feature makes it possible to use the app to find a specific menu item. Want eggs Benedict for Sunday Brunch? Search the apps database of 500,000 restaurants to find it near you.
5) Some Serious Cruise Savings
Why not travel like a VIP on your next great escape? Princess Cruises unveiled their latest promotion, which includes free room upgrades on Alaskan and European cruises, up to $200 in credit towards a shore excursion and a free dinner for two at one of the ship’s extra-charge restaurants.
